'Do you want to earn what you're worth? What are you worth? What is any of us worth? Well, my friends, if you can persuade a person you've never met to pay a few grand for something that doesn't exist, armed with nothing more than some wordplay, an empty wallet, imagination, bare-faced bull**** and a telephone you're worth something to me! My name is Bob Page and tonight I'm going to teach you every little trick in the telephone salesperson's handbook!"
Listen to Bob Page and four other selfless management individuals - Danny Rose, Geordie Colin, Bradley la Bouche and David Milner - tell you about the creation of that lean, mean booking-machine John Sherwood, a man who might or might not have existed . . .
REVIEWS:
"It is a measure of the quality of Tony Stowers' performance that he keeps you in your seat . . . whiff of authenticity . . . well-paced . . . is effective in all the roles . . . morality tale for our times"
- Lyn Gardner, The Guardian.
"A fascinating picture of the world of selling; a seedy brotherhood of liars in a permanent state of self-disgust." - Keiron Qurike, Time Out.
"Cleverly reels the audience in as Sherwood's tale unfolds. a change of accent is accompanied by a change of physiognomy, from plebian to patrician and back again. Both writing and performance step up a gear." - Jason Best, The Stage.
"Black, bitingly funny, breathtaking and provocative. Keep your wits about you. Stay focused . . . littered with quality writing . . . you will not be disappointed. Tony Stowers has done for the morality of aggressive advertising what Wilfrid Owen did for WW1!"
- Derek Brown, Freelance Theatre Critic
